Essential Information

We hope the following clarifies the policies and procedures we have in place in order to facilitate a successful transition to our caring environment. Any questions? Please don’t hesitate to contact us, we are here to help

Staff

All of our staff are passionate about delivering the best care possible.

We have a very high staff retention rate and our recruitment process is rigorous to ensure we employ only the best candidates.

Residency Procedure

We invite all of our potential guests to see the facilities, meet the staff and talk to current residents – perhaps even stay for a meal. As we endeavor to make ‘the right home’ for each of our residents we suggest a one-month trial stay before full admission is agreed upon.

This gives all parties the opportunity to fully assess the suitability of the arrangement. During this ‘trial’ period it is essential that relatives keep open the ‘returning home’ option i.e. prior accommodation arrangements must not be terminated, tenancies relinquished or homes sold. Once accepted, residents should be minded to settle on a permanent basis.

If however, the resident’s physical or mental condition deteriorates to a point where their needs require hospital or nursing home care we will assist relatives in making alternative arrangements. Where a resident is admitted to hospital for treatment their room will remain un-let during their absence and be available to them upon their return.

Social events

We have two activity coordinators and arrange our own social events, celebrations, and trips out,  they may include the following;

  • Board Games: Scrabble. Draughts, Dominos
  • Backgammon, Ludo, Puzzles
  • Charades and Card Games
  • Arts & Crafts. Knitting
  • Flower arranging
  • General Knowledge and Music Quiz Nights
  • Music and Singing
  • Film Nights
  • Visiting entertainers
  • Manicures and Hand Massage
  • Gentle Exercise
  • Light Gardening: Potting Plants
  • Visits to Local Garden Centres
  • Picnics
  • Library Visits
  • Theatre and Cinema Trips
  • One on one time

Fees

A full list of services and costs are available upon application. They are payable in advance on a calendar month

Naturally rooms with en-suite facilities attract a higher fee. We endeavour to keep fees as stable as possible; however should any increase be necessary one months written notice will be given.

Ridgeway Manor is very much a ‘home from home’ with wonderful caring staff. Always someone on hand to deal with needs even before they arise. A very happy community atmosphere, lovely bright, clean, well-maintained bedrooms for those who enjoy their own company on occasion.

C. Coles

My mother has been living at this home for the last five years and she is very happy and well cared for. The staff are lovely and most of them have been there the whole time my mother has been a resident.

A. Bernard

Our Dad has been living in Ridgeway Manor since October 2019, when his dementia meant he could no longer live at home. Ridgeway was recommended to us by friends. Dad is well cared for and happy. The home has regular activities the residents are encouraged to be in the communal areas during the day. Staff are kind and friendly and there is minimal staff turnover.

J. Preston

Ridgeway have looked after my mother now since March 2022 and they have been meticulous in their care for her. Food, drinks and entertainment have been wonderful. Personal hygiene has been professionally and sympathetically handled. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ridgeway and all their staff to anyone considering residency.

I. Oakshett,

I have nothing but praise for the care the home. The staff are kind, caring and friendly always on hand when needed. I am always informed of any problems and treatment being provided. The manager is very approachable and helpful, my wife is always smart and tidy and, although she is unaware of her surroundings, appears content. Nothing but praise.

P. Clark,

Always happy with the care my family member receives. I know he is cared for and they are always so helpful with visits and appointments. Cannot thank the staff enough for keeping him safe, happy and healthy.
